i have been very focus with learning like watching it on tv every night and listening to the music and teaching myself the basics and it comes along

I had a small background in learning spanish back in High school, and have recently been taking a few spanish courses at my University. Those are okay, and have helped mostly with grammar and whatnot, but by living around and with other people who speak spanish (as I currently do) you will pick up and learn so much more. It’s amazing how much slang is used in everyday conversation (we do it in English too, but just don’t realize it) – and virtually none of this is taught in the classroom.

I’m nearly fluent now, but then I’ve been surrounded by it for the past year. It still can be difficult to understand stuff, especially if someone speaks too quickly, but I have been able to get by just fine every place I’ve gone where I have to use spanish.

Good question! Since you know basics of Italian it will really help you, even knowing English will so you’re at a good advantage. I learned a great amount (enough for conversation) in a year. I go on mission trips to Belize (many people speak it there) And it helped me tremendously! Being there and hearing it in that setting makes it a lot easier.
