What is the best way to learn Spanish without living in a Spanish speaking country?
GreyCow asked:
I am learning Spanish by listening to tapes in my car, using programs on the computer, but none of them give me the “real world” conversation or interaction practice that I am looking for.

I already know that the best way is to live in a Spanish speaking country to learn it, but was hoping for other solutions as I can not do this.
Does anyone know a good way acquire practice through interaction, whether it be with live people or some kind of software?

Is it ok to start learning French, while I am still learning Spanish (2nd course)? Please read?
Rafi asked:
I already speak fluent Persian, Armenian, English, and also can read and understand Arabic. I took a beginner Spanish course in summer, and now I am taking a second Spanish course in my university, and am the best student in class (The teacher is amazed how well I speak) Well, it’s mostly because I learn more Spanish vocab on the sidelines on internet as well. I am very enticed to start learning French by taking a class in summer besides taking my third course in Spanish. I am wondering wether it is ok to start learning French while I am not done with Spanish yet. By the way, I have a 4.0 GPA, so I can handle studying well, but still wondering if learning these two languages at the same time is the right thing to do?

mrderek21 asked:
So my friend is hispanic and I’m having her teach me spanish (as in conversational) but it’s rough because I don’t know how to put sentences together in spanish. My high school and college classes are far behind and I don’t remember much from them. Anyone know of good programs online….that are free? Or perhaps cheap books or what not? Thanks!

Where can I learn Spanish in New York City?
LJ asked:
I would like to be a fluent Spanish speaker. Currently at an intermediate level, better at reading than at speaking or writing. Looking for a structured, relatively inexpensive small-group course that offers the most bang for my buck.
